Russia: 2012 war on Iran, will become world war III
Messing with Iran will bring Western Allies very dangerously close to messing with Russia and China. 2012 will be remembered as the year that same Western Allies unleashed World War III
In an interview with Russia Today on Friday, Vitaly Churkin, said that the conflict looming between Iran and Western countries poses the “greatest danger” to the world in the upcoming year.
“This is a very dangerous scenario,” said Churkin, commenting on the Iranian-Western standoff.
The Russian diplomat added that to avoid serious consequences of the existing circumstances, both sides must seek a peaceful solution through negotiations.
Churkin added that Russia does not “accept the proposition that the best way to prevent a war is to start a war.”
He said Iran should continue negotiate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over unresolved problems related to its nuclear program and simultaneously, resume talks with the P5+1 which consists of five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany.
“Our consistent stand, our effort, is going to be targeted at doing whatever we can in order to prevent this scenario of regional catastrophe being carried out in 2012,” he explained.
Director General of IAEA Yukiya Amano released his latest report on Iran's nuclear program on November 8, claiming that Iran had been engaged in activities related to developing nuclear weapons before 2003, which “may still be ongoing.”
The US and its European allies have used the report as an excuse to impose new rounds of financial and energy sanctions against Iran, including proposing an embargo on the country's oil exports.
Iranian officials have been warning the US and Western countries that Tehran may respond to the West's sanctions on its oil sales by closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's Navy is currently conducting a massive 10-day naval drill, codenamed “Velayat 90”, in an area stretching from the east of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Aden.
War on Iran in 2012 will be world war 3
Messing with Iran will bring Western Allies very dangerously close to messing with Russia and China. If I were in their shoes, I would not do that. Unless…
Unless World War III is what they are looking for. Now, why would they do that? Perhaps, because they have realized that there is just no peaceful way of achieving their dream of World Government. Perhaps because they have understood that the financial quicksand they have backed themselves into is so devastating that it cannot be cleaned up with purely financial, monetary and “legal” measures, in which case…
Nothing beats a good war! Perhaps, because wildcard Israel is so very much in control (or should I say, out of control) that they are imposing the “Sampson Option” not only on themselves, but also on their controlled Western Allies and the whole planet if need be. “After me, the Flood!”
Things in the Strait of Hormuz are extremely dangerous and volatile. After being systematically threatened with unilateral military attack, invasion, and even nuclear strikes, now the Iranians are showing their muscle too. On 24th December, Iran began a 10-day spate of military maneuvers in the strait that has all but put the US, UK and Israel on red alert. A US aircraft carrier force is now in the area and their helicopters have flown dangerously close to Iranian forces. Any spark could set off a conflagration.
Meanwhile, Syria is falling into meltdown. Meanwhile, Israel is preparing “Cast Lead II” over and inside Gaza. Meanwhile, Hezbollah is ready to strike Israel with tens of thousands of very deadly short-range “Katyushka” rockets.
A key sign of impending war is an article just published in the January/February 2012 issue of Foreign Affairs, the official journal of the New York-based Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). It carried the ominous title of Time to Attack Iran: Why a Strike Is the Least Bad Option, by Matthew Kroenig. This man was, until last July, special advisor to the Pentagon for “Defense Strategy on Iran” – Newspeak for “let’s beat the hell out of Iran”.
Russia and China have criticised France's foreign minister Bernard Kouchner for talking of "war" with Teheran.
After meeting his French counterpart in Moscow, Sergei Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister, gave warning of the possible consequences of any military strike designed to disable Iran's nuclear programme.
"We are convinced that no modern problem has a military solution, and that applies to the Iranian nuclear programme as well," said Mr Lavrov.
"We are seriously concerned about increasingly frequent reports that military action against Iran is being seriously considered."
Mr Lavrov added that Russia supported the recent agreement reached between Iran and nuclear inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Earlier, China's foreign ministry also criticised Mr Kouchner for raising the possibility of war.
"We believe the best option is to peacefully resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic negotiations, which is in the common interests of the international community," said Jiang Yu, an official spokesman.
"We do not approve of easily resorting to threatening use of force in international affairs."
